Kundapur: Murder of mother-in-law for money, accused arrested

Kundapur, June 10: Kundapur police have arrested a person who killed his mother in law for money on Tuesday late night at Uppinakudru near Tallur.

Janaki Sherigar (80) is the person deceased. Janardhan Sherigar (50) is the person accused.




As per details, Janardhan is an alcoholic. He was planning to attend a wedding on Wednesday for which he started demanding money from his mother in law since Tuesday afternoon. He came drunk at late Tuesday night and hit his mother in law hard with the influence of alcohol. The old woman could not take the beating and died immediately due to injuries.

Janardhan’s wife Pushpa had died five years back and his son worked in Bengaluru. He has been living with his mother in law. He was working in Bengaluru as cook before joining a shamiyana shop in Byndoor.

Kundapur police in a swift action managed to apprehend the accused. A case has been registered at Kundapur police station.
