Bengaluru, Mar 13: CCB police have arrested six people including a post-graduate student in connection with the murder of rowdy Laxman. ACMM court has remanded them to ten days police custody.
CCB police said that the arrested persons are Varshini (21), daughter of a woman JD(S) worker, Roopesh, Cat Raja, Hemanth, Devaraj and Madhu.
Details of incident
Varshini and Roopesh were in love with each other. But there was opposition for their love. Varshini’s father had asked Laxman to advise Roopesh. Laxman had threatened Roopesh not to come close to Varshini. The familiarity between Laxman and Varshini deepened after the incident. It is said that there was relationship between the two.

Roopesh hatched a conspiracy with Cat Ravi to kill Laxman, who came between his love life. He had allegedly took help from Varshini also for the purpose. Investigations have revealed that they splashed chili powder on Laxman on March 7, assaulted with deadly weapons and killed him.
'My daughter is not involved'
“My daughter is not involved in the murder. Her name is included in the case due to political enmity. Laxman had troubled our family even when he was alive. He is troubling us even after his death,” told the mother of Varshini to media.
Theft in the house of MLA
Roopesh who was the primary suspect in the theft in the house of Malavalli MLA K Annadani in Rajarajeshwari Nagar was in jail. He made friends with some prisoners in jail. It is said that he was the assistant director in cinema and TV serials and came to know Varshini when he was conducting dance classes.
Background of rowdy Laxman
More than twenty police cases including murder, attempted murder and threats were registered against Laxman. He was included in B rowdy list in Kengeri police station, He was facing inquiry in case registered by CCB in real estate entrepreneur Mirle Varadaraj case. He was arrested from Malanaguppe farm house, Muddoor in Mirle case. He came out on bail later on February 20.
