Mangaluru, Feb 11: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister V Sunil Kumar inspected ongoing works at the new deputy commissioner’s office complex, construction of which is in progress at Padil. The complex should have been ready by now, but for the problems created by the floods followed by the onset of Covid pandemic.
The ground floor plus three-storied complex covering 2.26 lac square feet of space that is proposed here is coming up in 5.8 acres of land. Once completed, it will house 38 departments besides the offices of the MLAs and the MP. The original estimate of the building was Rs 41 crore but the revised estimate is over Rs 55 crore.
The minister was accompanied by deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, and others during the visit.
