Bagalkot: Girls students wear Hijabs, offer namaz inside another school

Bagalkot, Feb 12: It had recently come to light that the students of a school in Dakshina Kannada district had offered namaz inside the school. Now it has come to light that the students have also offered namaz in another school in Karnataka.

The latest incident happened in Moulana Azad English Medium School in Ilkal town, Bagalkot district. Girl students of the school wearing HIjabs offered namaz in the verandah of a classroom of the school.

 

In this case, namaz was offered by six girl students of the school inside the school premises, duly taking care to ensure that the teachers did not notice them. A video of this incident is now becoming viral.

This trend has given rise to worry about the namaz too getting embroiled in controversy in which so far Hijabs and saffron shawls alone were involved.

    Moral Science and Moral education is part of every school's curriculum, so Prayer also part of Moral education - in our childhood we had to say prayers in our Moral education period - what is wrong in that?

    We should encourage the students who pray regularly. It is well known that those who are regularly praying five times a day generally do not get involved in anti social and criminal activities.

    Five times of prayer a day is not specifically mentioned in the Quran, Surah 11 Hud, Ayat 114 says "And establish the Prayer at the two ends of the day and in the first hours of the night. It specifies 3 times a day. Shias are not agreeing to 5 times a day. Salat / namaaz is not a prayer. A prayer means speaking to your God in your known language. It is not byheart. God is Almighty available to believers 24X7 irrespective of space, time and place. In the Moses asks if the people of Israel ask me who is your God and what is His name. What shall I reply . Genesis 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM:

    Most of the professional schools observe holy, diwali,ganapati,navratri with full disturbance till now no Muslim objected or complained. Namaz is mandatory and no disturbance its just 10 minutes without noise.

    For the benefit of knowledge, here are key points about Namaz. It's a mandatory prayers every Muslims must do 5 times a day. Namaz of each time takes hardly 5 mins. No instruments or preparation is required, just the one mans space needs to clean. Namaz is often done without any noise or sound individually. Namaz can also be read sitting if no provision of space. Namaz means remembering and thanking Almighty God for the provisions he provided and asking for further guideance. Like namaz, prayers by all other religion should be duly followed, whenever and wherever it is, one who fears and loves God can always be good citizen.

    Schools are meant for education and not for offering namaz or any kind of religious activity. Govt should ban any kinds of religious activities in schools.

    Is praying an offence?. Muslims have an obligation from thier holy books to pray at certain parts of the day and by observing the law of the land. If other religions have that obligation then they can also do the same. Choice and Practise of religion is one’s fundamental birth right. No govt can interfere with this constitutional right.
