Bengaluru, Feb 13: Chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai said that the decision of reopening PU and degree colleges will be taken after observing the developments on February 14.
Speaking to the media, Bommai said, “We will take suitable decision based on the prevailing situation. We are also concerned about the education of students.
“The Supreme Court has passed an order with regards to re-inspection of reservation in taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat elections. Hence, the same will be discussed with Advocate General,” he said.
It may be recalled, the Higher Education department on Friday had said that the colleges will remain closed till February 16 even as the examinations will be held as scheduled. The closure of all Universities belonging to the Department of higher education and colleges under the Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE) and government, aided and unaided pre-university colleges coming under the purview of the Primary and Secondary Department, has been extended till February 16.
