Mangaluru, Feb 13: The winners of A Shama Rao Memorial Achievement Award 2022 have been announced. S Ganesh Rao, Varun Alva, C S Radhika, Charles K C and Dr Sandhya Shenoy will be conferred with the prestigious award on February 14 during the Founder’s Day celebrations in the presence of Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, president, A Shama Rao Foundation, Mangaluru & chancellor, Srinivas University at Srinivas University Campus, Pandeshwar, as detailed by Dr A R Shabaraya, convener, A.Shama Rao Memorial Awards Screening Committee.

S Ganesh Rao, is chosen for A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award 2022 in undivided Dakshina Kannada district for his contribution in the field of education, employment, social and community service. Rao is the chairman of G R Education Trust and Karavali Group of Colleges.
Varun Alva, assistant reserve sub inspector (City Armed Reserve), Mangaluru and C S Radhika, lady ambulance driver, Cauvery Ambulances, Kulai are selected for A Shama Rao Memorial Awards 2022 for outstanding social service for their sincere, honest and bravery services to the society.
Ramananda, Hindi language teacher Grade-II, (High School Teacher), Government English Medium High School, Daddalakadu, Bantwal taluk, Dakshina Kannada and Dr Saroja M, lecturer in Biology, Bhandarkars’ PU College, Kundapur, Udupi district are selected for A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Awards 2022 for their contribution in the field of education in undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
Charles K C who has received international recognition for his extraordinary artistic skills, is chosen for the award. He is a student of Srinivas University.
Dr Sandhya Shenoy, associate professor, department of Chemistry, College of Engineering and Technology, Srinivas University, Mukka is chosen for the Young Researcher Award for the year 2022. She is the recipient of Young Scientist platinum Jubilee Award (2021) from National Academy of Sciences India (NASI). Apart from this, a certificate of appreciation has top 5% highly cited author internationally by Royal Society of Chemistry, London, recognizing her contribution.
