Brahmavar, Feb 28: In connection with the atrocities which reportedly were committed against the Koraga colony of Kotathattu village in the taluk, members of Koraga community, Rajesh, Sudarshan, Ganesh Barkur, Sachin and Gireesh, were granted anticipatory bail by the Kundapur district and sessions court.

The police reportedly had raided the residence of Rajesh from Chittibettu here when the Mehendi programme was in progress at his house. They were accused of brutally beating up the Koraga community members. The police also had registered a criminal case alleging that the Koraga community members had formed an illegal assembly and attacked them, thereby obstructing them from discharging their duties.

One must never make undue use of his position. Be it police or koragas. Our society must rapidly improve the socio economic standard of all backward classes and all must have even playing fields. There should be an end to caste ism and religious barriers like in the advanced nations.

All these people have been taking undue advantage of the discriminatory and outdated laws that has been in force to gain votes. Now let them some their own medicine to know how it's working. Junk all these discriminatory laws and let there be one law for all.

Clear misuse of SC ST Atrocity act. It has become rampant nowadays to misuse atrocity acts. Without any prima facie, SC-ST atrocity cases have been filed against the innocent public. Modi government has made this act, more draconian for vote bank politics. For misuse of the act, there is no punishment. Nowadays even converted scheduled caste members are misusing this act, hiding the facts about their conversion just to blackmail the general public or force them to convert. This will only further damage the respect of the SC and STs. The real aggrieved members of the community will be socially boycotted. No private institutions wants to hire them coz of the draconian act.
