Udupi, Feb 2: "Congress is delivering irresponsible statements. Who are they to speak about BJP election tickets in Shivamogga,” questioned Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister for Social Welfare and Backward Class Welfare department.
"As many as 23 Hindu workers were murdered during the Congress’ regime. The Congress supported the fundamentalists. What was their stand that time? Our high command will decide who on the election tickets. The BJP government for the first time in history came forward to solve all the problems of Harsha’s family. We have visited his family. Fundamentalists who supported the terrorists killed Harsha. If the Congress government had not withdrawn cases which were filed on them, these circumstances would not have occurred. We will not spare those murderers who killed Harsha. All the necessary action will be taken" he said.
Speaking on the Congress' Mekedatu Padayatra 2.0, Kota said, "In 2013, Congress did 'Namma Nadige Krishneyedege' Padayatra. They declared that if the party comes to power, Krishna irrigation projects will be completed at a cost of Rs 50,000 crores in five years. In their five year tenure, they did not spend Rs 50,000 crore for the project nor did they complete it. Congress has been successful in spreading Covid in the first phase of Mekedatu padayatra. In the second phase, they are creating traffic problems in Bengaluru city. Mekedatu issue is in the Supreme Court and we have discussed it with the law experts to solve the issue soon. BJP will implement Mekedatu as expected by the Congress and it will be a proud thing for the state as well. I request D K Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah to discuss the issue in the house. All your questions will be answered therein. Do not spread false information by doing these padayatras and rallies. Vidhana Sabha and Vidhana Parishad are open to hold discussions. You have not achieved anything by boycotting the sessions. People have understood that this is a political rally.”
Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary also received appeals from the public.
